Drought Resilience Workshops

Across April and May, Food & Fibre Gippsland, in collaboration with local partners, delivered a successful series of Drought Resilience Workshops in Wonthaggi, Leongatha, Warragul, and Yarram. These workshops brought together a diverse mix of participants from Catchment Management Authorities, local government, Agriculture Victoria, and a broad range of engaged community members. The series formed part of the Helping Regional Communities Prepare For Drought - Community Impact Program

The workshops provided a unique peer-to-peer learning environment, encouraging open conversations about the challenges and impacts of drought on regional communities. Through shared experiences and local knowledge, participants explored key components of resilience, preparedness, and community-led action.

Facilitated by Jenny O’Sullivan, each session was informative and inspiring. Jenny’s deep understanding of rural communities, combined with her inclusive and engaging facilitation style, created a space where attendees felt heard, supported, and motivated to take action.

These workshops not only helped strengthen drought preparedness across the region, but also reinforced the power of collaboration, local leadership, and community-driven solutions in the face of climate challenges.
